Lewis and Clark Award History
During the 1987-1988 Grand York Rite year, Most Excellent Companion Richard D. Carroll, Grand High Priest, Most Illustrious Companion Jack R. Clark, Sr., Grand Master, and Sir Knight Chester H. Hazen, Right Eminent Grand Commander, decided to create a unique award for the Grand York Rite of Missouri. This new honor was named the Lewis and Clark Award. The Lewis and Clark awards were first issued during the 1988 Annual Grand Sessions of the Grand York Rite of Missouri.

The Lewis and Clark is awarded to Companions and Sir Knights who have demonstrated service above and beyond the call of duty. Eligibility is not limited to Officers or those who excel in Ritual. Companions and Sir Knights who work behind the scenes are just as eligible.

We proudly acknowledge these Missouri York Rite Freemasons who have distinguished themselves in their Chapter, Council, or Commandery.
