     Frederick A. Troxel, Jr.    
Grand Commander 2007-2008

Frederick Allen Troxel, Jr. was born to Frederick A. Troxel and Eileen Lucille (Johns) Troxel on April 30, 1941 at Basinett Hospital in Inglewood, California. The eldest of seven, he attended school in Osawatomie & Paola, Kansas and Hickman Mills & Peculiar, Missouri where he graduated in 1959, he met and married Roma Sue Floyd to which were born Curtis Edward, Portia Denise and Jason Robert. His pride and joys are his family and grandchildren, James Robert Troxel, Tyler Allen Troxel, Ashley Renee Troxel, Shelby Elizabeth Troxel and Skylor Allen Grubb.

Sir Knight Troxel entered an apprenticeship in tool and die making with Western Electric graduating in 1968 as a Journeyman.  After serving with the US Navy as a radar electronic technician, he returned to Western Electric to finish his apprenticeship and continue employment as a machine control designer, and software systems administrator retiring in 1995 with 35 years and 8 months service.

His Masonic service began with his initiation in Blue Springs Lodge 337 on 19 June, 1976, Passed 21 August, 1976 and Raised 18 September, 1976. He served the lodge as Worshipful Master in 1981, earning the Grand Lodge Achievement Award. He won the State Round Robin Competition in 1988, served as District Deputy Grand Lecturer in 1985, 1986 and 1987, District Deputy Grand Master in 1992, appointed Grand Representative to Texas in 1987, became an Endowed Member in 1990, and a member of the Missouri Lodge of Research in 1991. He served on several committees of the Grand Lodge, including the Speakers Bureau, Public Relations, and Forms and Ceremonies.

Sir Knight Troxel was Constituted and Proclaimed a 32º Scottish Rite Mason in the Kansas City, Missouri Valley on 18 April, 1982, served as Commander of the Council of Kadosh in 1993, Invested a Knight Commander Court of Honor in 1993, Coroneted an Inspector General Honorary 33º in 1999, and served as the Executive Secretary from 2003 to 2006. He served several years on the Childhood Language Disorders Clinic Board, as Jurisdictional Clubs Coordinator, President of the 33º Club, Membership Committee, a member of the Royal Order of Scotland, Past Masters Club and member of the ritual cast.

Sir Knight Troxel was Exalted a Royal Arch Mason in Independence Chapter 12 on 13 April, 1985, served as High Priest in 1993, received the Order of High Priesthood in 1994, the Distinguished Chapter Award in 1994, served on several Grand Chapter Committees, and served as State RARA Chairman in 1993. He was Greeted a Royal and Select Master in Independence Council 49, 13 April, 1985, served as Illustrious Master in 1997, Regional Deputy Grand Lecturer in 1998, appointed Grand Representative to Montana in 2006, and is a member of the Order of the Silver Trowel.

Sir Knight Troxel was Knighted in Palestine Commandery 17 in Independence on 13 April, 1985, served as Commander in 1997, appointed Grand Representative to Montana in 1999, elected Grand Warder of Knights Templar of Missouri in 1999, and Grand Commander in May 2007. He is a member of Missouri Priory 17 KYCH, Charlemagne Council 79 Knight Masons, Sword of Bunker Hill, Yeomen of York, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, Past Commanders Association.

Sir Knight Troxel was constituted a Noble of the Mystic Shrine, 1 May 1982 at Ararat Temple 38 in Kansas City, Missouri, received an appointment to the advancing line in 2005 as Outer Guard, served as president of the Blue Springs Shrine Club in 1992, secretary of the Blue Springs Shrine Club in 1991, 1992-1994, served as Ararat Ambassador for several districts, served as Captain of Ararat Patrol 2001 and 2002, CSSPA President 2001, served as Ararat Hospital Chairman, 1999, member of 18 Shrine Clubs, Order of Quetzcoatl, 2002.

Sir Knight Troxel is also Past Dean of Mother Preceptory DeMolay Legion of Honor and an endowed member. Past Sovereign of Mary Conclave Red Cross of Constantine, 1997 and an endowed member, Past Advisor and Charter Member of Blue Springs DeMolay Advisory Council, Sovereign Master of Kilwinning Council 19 AMD, 1993, Red Branch of Eri, 1999, Pre-Eminent Governor of Harry S Truman York Rite College, 2005, received the Order of the Purple Cross, 30 July, 2004, member of Societas Rosicruciana In Civitatibus Foederatis, 1999, a member of Fayette 239, Knights of Pythias since 2000, and a member of the Widows Sons Knights Templar Chapter.
